The Regional Championship game took place in Indiana, but the kick-off was at a different location. It was a highly anticipated playoff match between arch rivals Saint X and Trinity, and surprisingly, they decided to play it on-campus. The game was held at Marshall Stadium, and W-L-K-Y’s Britt Del Barba covered it as the Game of the Week in Saint Matthews. It was a rematch from the regular season, with Trinity aiming for a clean sweep over rival Saint X in the second round of the playoffs.

Trinity had won the previous six games and was looking to extend their winning streak. They hosted Saint X in the first quarter. They gave the ball to Clint Sansbury, who scored a touchdown, giving the Rocks a 7-0 lead. In the second quarter, Luke Sasser executed a reverse pass brilliantly, receiving a tremendous block and running for 14 yards to score another touchdown. The Rocks now led by 28-0.

Just before halftime, quarterback Trevor Havel threw a pass to Marlon Harbin for a touchdown, bringing Trinity’s score to 28-7. In the third quarter, the Rocks relied on Sansbury once again, and he scored his third touchdown, accumulating a total of 175 yards in three touchdowns. The Rocks triumphed with a final score of 38-14. Plant, who had been outstanding throughout the year, continued to play well.

The Lions’ offensive line also improved significantly since their first match. They had two new players starting back then, and now they were more experienced towards the end of the season.

The team took it one week at a time, working hard in their daily workouts and staying focused. They disregarded any negative comments from outsiders and remained united. The coach was happy for the fans and grateful to have the game at their home stadium, as it always held a special significance. The atmosphere was buzzing, and the student body showed tremendous support by selling out the stadium.

The players acknowledged the importance of their fellow students and felt their unwavering support. It was a fantastic feeling. The victory marked their seventh consecutive win and secured home field advantage for the upcoming third round..
