tornado, captured by cell phone cameras, has left residents of the Carson-Compton area in shock.
According to the National Weather Service, not one but two EF0 tornadoes hit the area, with the second one hitting just a couple of miles east of the first one.
The tornadoes stayed on the ground for a short time, but the damage left behind is clear, with sections of roofs ripped off buildings and debris flying through the air.
Witnesses describe the sound of the tornado as resembling a train, and some say they have never seen anything like it in California.
Despite the damage, power has been restored to the area, and residents are left to pick up the pieces after the rare and unexpected weather event.
