Over 105 students and professionals attended, including 20 panelists and business industry partners in fields such as graphic design, content creation, video production, multimedia, photography, and interior design.
The Pikes Peak Business and Education Alliance organized the event to attract young people to high-demand, high-wage careers they might not know about.
The organization also connects students with industry professionals for job shadowing opportunities and education about career options in arts and design.
According to professionals at the expo, there are high-demand fields in arts, design, and multimedia, and events like this help students understand different career paths and make connections with potential mentors.
Matthew, a student interested in video editing and production, shared that working with professional editors has given him helpful tips and guidance.
The organizers believe that experiential learning is a huge catalyst for students’ curiosity and engagement in academics, and they hope to inspire and guide students towards successful career paths.
