Protesters and supporters have gathered outside the Adler Theatre in Iowa ahead of a speech by former US President Donald Trump.

Despite the cold temperatures, Trump’s supporters began queuing outside the theatre as early as 10 a.m.

on Monday, eagerly waiting to hear from the former president.

Trump’s speech will be his first appearance in Iowa since last fall and will reportedly focus on education, specifically cutting “critical race theory” and “other ideology” from schools.

Some of Trump’s supporters cited his promises as a reason for their continued support, with one saying “I really think he’s the best president we have ever had.” However, others are open to potential candidates such as Ron DeSantis, who was in Davenport on Friday.

Meanwhile, behind the Trump supporters, protesters held up signs opposing the former president and his speech.
