WPTV First Alert Weather forecast for the morning of May 8, 2023 indicates a hopeful outlook for rain, albeit not of the severe kind.

Over the weekend, a few showers were experienced, but they were localized and intense downpours.

The fire danger index currently stands below 400, which is considered low.

Although Indian River County and Okeechobee could benefit from more rain, the morning forecast predicts some precipitation.

As for temperatures, the highs for today are expected to reach the low 80s, with slightly higher temperatures in Okeechobee at 86 degrees.

The Palm Beaches and Martin County will see highs in the low to mid-80s, which is normal for this time of year.

However, this weather pattern is temporary, as high pressure over the Atlantic will bring breezy conditions today, followed by hotter and drier weather tomorrow.

On Wednesday, there may be an isolated thunderstorm in the late afternoon, but the focus will be on the temperatures reaching the 90s.

Thursday will see an increase in rain chances.

The rip current risk at the beach is currently high, but there are no advisories for heading out on the water.

Looking at the 7-day forecast, Wednesday stands out as the hottest day with temperatures hitting 90 degrees, followed by the return of thunderstorms on Thursday.
