A potential tornado touched down in Montebello, California after an atmospheric river swept through the southern part of the state.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning, indicating that a tornado has been sighted and that conditions are ripe for this type of activity.
Thankfully, no one was hurt, as workers took cover.
The unusual weather conditions that have led to the potential tornado are due to a recipe of very cold, unstable air, combined with a bit of sunshine, creating super-style thunderstorms.
While these weather conditions are more commonly associated with Tornado Alley in the South or the Plains states, they are not typical for California.
The National Weather Service is currently analyzing radar and historical data to determine whether or not a tornado actually touched down in the area.
