The University of Portland Women’s Basketball team is heading to the NCAA tournament to compete against Oklahoma on Saturday, March 18th.

The team last won the tournament semifinals in 2019-2020, but the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Five players from the 2020 team are on this year’s roster, including junior Kelsey Lindsay.

The Pilots are coming in as underdogs but are confident in their abilities to win.

Head coach Michael Meek is pleased with his team’s preparation and hopes they will continue to improve every day.

The last time the Pilots competed in the women’s tournament was in 1997.

The team is excited to have the opportunity to participate this year and is grateful for the support of their fans and season ticket holders.
