Portland experiences wettest day of 2023 so far
On March 13th, 2023, Portland witnessed its wettest day of the year so far.
The city recorded 1.16 inches of rainfall at the airport, which is also the fourth wettest day since October 1st.
The downtown area also received over an inch and a half of rain since the previous day at 5 p.m.
Other parts of the region also saw significant rainfall, with 1.15 inches in Troutdale, half an inch in McMinnville, and nearly 1.4 inches in Salem.
Although the Cascades still continue to receive heavy snowfall, the rain has subsided in the valleys, and the Doppler radar shows that the coast is getting some sunshine.
However, there are still a few scattered showers expected overnight and tomorrow.
While the temperature in Portland was 46 degrees, the city is expected to witness warmer temperatures of around 53 degrees with some sunshine on March 14th, which is also celebrated as Pi Day.
Although a weak system is expected to bring a few showers on Wednesday, the rest of the week is expected to be dry with above-average temperatures.
On the other hand, California is expected to witness another big storm, which could cause more flooding and rainfall in the state.
