A popular Popeyes restaurant in Milwaukee’s northwest side was destroyed by a fire on Monday around 5 a.m.
The fire was noticed by a driver who saw smoke coming from the building and called 911.
The manager of the restaurant received frantic calls and described the damage as being like a “tornado with a lot of water damage.” Fortunately, no one was hurt as no one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
Fire officials believe that it was a good Samaritan who made the initial 911 call.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but management suspects that it may have been an electrical issue.
The employees who worked at the location will be temporarily moved to other Popeyes in the city.
Despite the damage, management assures the community that the location will be reopened and better than before.
