The Poria Police Department officers have been investigating a shooting that occurred in a house for 13 hours. The units are still present, with crime scene tape blocking a big part of the neighborhood.
Recently, the garage door was opened and the vehicles inside and on the driveway are being inspected. Peoria detectives believe this was not a random act and there is a suspect that they are working on apprehending.
They received a call about the shooting early in the morning, where they found a deceased man in the house and a woman who had been shot and later died in the hospital. Neighbors are feeling uneasy knowing that their neighbors may have been intentionally targeted.
Regardless of the reason, they realize that it could have happened to anyone. Neighbors mention that the victims had a romantic relationship and had moved in recently.
They are eager for the suspect to be caught and want to know the motive behind the crime. Detectives will continue to investigate, speaking with family and neighbors and collecting any surveillance footage that can provide more information about the suspect and if there were any other individuals involved.
