Shots were fired during a police chase in Madison County last night, and a manhunt is currently underway.

The incident began around 11:30 pm on Thursday when an officer attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle on I-55 and Gluckstadt Road.

The suspects in the black 2003 Honda Civic fled from officers, traveling southbound on I-55 before eventually exiting at the 463 exit in Madison.

They then turned onto Galleria Parkway, where they started firing shots at officers.

The police fired back, but no one was hit.

The suspects crashed into a wooded area near Garden Park and fled the scene.

The Gluckstadt Police Department has stated that the suspects are still at large, and their whereabouts are currently unknown.

The incident has involved both the Gluckstadt and Madison Police Departments, and it has been a busy night and morning for law enforcement officials in the area.
