A health-care worker in Interior Health is under investigation for allegedly making offensive comments in a patient’s medical file.
Robert Monroe, who was struggling with a work-related injury, was shocked to discover hurtful and derogatory comments about himself in his worksafe file after a physiotherapy appointment at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
Monroe filed a complaint with Interior Health, and an investigation is now underway.
Worksafebc says it expects contractors to be respectful and considerate and will investigate where the code of conduct has been breached.
Monroe wants an apology, and the hurtful comments have since been removed from the file.
