The Phoenix Police Department has released new body camera footage of a deadly police shooting that occurred last month near Central Ave.

and Bell Rd.

in North Phoenix.

According to police, a caller reported a vehicle driving erratically and almost hitting a pedestrian.

When police arrived at an apartment complex to investigate, they found Matthew Sansotta, who had a rifle and a handgun.

They removed him from his pickup truck to conduct a DUI investigation, but he allegedly ran back toward the truck and grabbed a gun.

The new footage comes from two different police officers, with the first officer not firing his weapon and the second officer firing the fatal shot.

The video may be disturbing to some viewers.

Sansotta was taken to the hospital but later died, while none of the police officers were injured.

The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office is now investigating the shooting.
