A man from Phoenix has hiked Piestewa Peak 30 times to raise money for his friend who is battling stage 4 cancer.

Gilbert Castillo took on the challenge to help his friend, Miko Vasquez, who has been fighting cancer for the past year and a half.

Castillo hiked the peak 30 times in just 60 hours, with only a two-hour nap break.

Vasquez was at the bottom of the mountain, cheering him on along with family and friends.

Castillo was able to raise $17,000 for his friend, and he said he would do it again to help out his friend.

Vasquez is still fighting his battle with cancer but is grateful for the support and hopeful for his recovery.
