A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car near Rural Road and Lemon Street in Tempe on Thursday night, according to police.
The collision occurred just before midnight, and the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the car remained at the scene, and authorities have stated that impairment was not a factor in the incident.
The accident caused major streets in the area to be closed overnight, but they have since been reopened.
The incident occurred just south of Apache Boulevard, near ASU’s main campus.
The university is currently on spring break, but the campus remains open.
