A Pawtucket man is being held without bail after being charged with the murder of his own grandfather over the weekend.
Matthew Dufresne appeared in court this morning and was ordered to remain behind bars.
The victim, identified as 84-year-old Joseph Corsi, was found dead in the home where he lived with Dufresne on Eddington Street in Pawtucket.
Police were called to the residence for a well-being check and discovered Corsi’s body, with Dufresne also present and taken into custody.
While authorities have not yet revealed the cause of Corsi’s death, they believe the murder took place shortly before they arrived.
The case will now move to a grand jury, with Dufresne’s next court date set for March 21st.
Corsi is being remembered by family members as a loving grandfather who enjoyed teaching others how to cook.
