Patrick Henry High School hosts pep rally to send off their boys varsity basketball team to the State Championship in Richmond against Woodside High School.
The school was filled with Purple and Gold as students and faculty celebrated the team’s achievement.
This marks the first time in 25 years that the Patrick Henry boys varsity team has made it to the state championship.
The Roanoke City schools have encouraged everyone to wear purple and gold to show their support and celebrate the Patriots.
Head coach Jack Esworthy expressed his pride in the team and says they have prepared for the game like any other game.
The team was given a police escort following the pep rally and will play the game tomorrow at 1 PM with tickets costing $10.
