Transitional Improvements: Helping Homeless & Formerly Incarcerated Grocery Store Shooting; 1 Injured, 1 in Custody

tonight’s breaking news, a 30-year-old ex-convict who was on parole for a violent crime managed to walk out of jail without any payment. Unfortunately, six days later, he allegedly murdered a 34-year-old mother in front of her three-year-old son. Our reporter Randy Wallace from Fox 26 is live downtown to provide us with the latest details in this ongoing case. Instead of keeping Dominique Miny behind bars while the parole board made a decision, a magistrate inexplicably granted him a get out of jail free card.

This decision has left the victim’s family devastated, angry, and filled with grief. We spoke with Lisa Callaway, the mother of the victim, on the second month anniversary of her daughter’s murder.

Sheniqua Banks was tragically shot to death on September 7th on West Gulf Bank in West Montgomery. Police have identified 30-year-old Dominique Meny as the shooter who also injured a man in front of Sheniqua’s three-year-old son. Meny was already on parole for aggravated robbery when he was charged with felony drug possession.

Despite this, the magistrate decided to grant him a personal recognizance bond, which is perplexing considering his violent criminal history. Just six days after being released, Meny allegedly murdered Sheniqua. This has left the victim’s mother furious, as she believes her daughter would still be alive if the judicial system had done its job properly.

The parole board had actually issued a blue warrant for Meny on the murder day after finding out about his felony arrest. A blue warrant is the most powerful warrant in the state, as it means no bond can be set. However, it was too late. Meny had already been set free by the magistrate.

Now, the grieving mother wants those responsible for allowing this to happen to be held accountable as she can never get her daughter back. Meny is now on the run and considered a wanted fugitive. If you have any information about his whereabouts, please call Crimstopper at 713-222-TIPS. There is a potential reward of $55,000.
