More than 700 employees have been laid off from Ochsner Health, a healthcare organization operating across two states.
The CEO of Ochsner Health, Pete November, sent a message to the employees announcing the layoff.
The reduction in workforce affects a total of 770 positions, which are primarily management and non-direct patient care roles.
This accounts for approximately 2% of the team.
However, physicians will not be affected by these layoffs.
According to November, the reduction in staff will not hinder their ability to provide care to patients and communities.
The decision to lay off employees is said to be a result of increased labor-related factors.
Ochsner Health aims to ensure that patient care remains unaffected despite the downsizing.
