Authorities Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting at Popular Travel Stop in St.
Regis
An active crime scene is being investigated by authorities at the Saint Regis Travel Center, a popular travel site located near the Idaho Montana border.
Montana Highway Patrol officials reported that prior to the incident, law enforcement in Idaho was pursuing the suspects for an armed robbery.
Shortly after the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office reported gunshots were fired, residents were instructed to stay inside their homes.
The Sheriff’s Office has stated that there is currently no risk to the community, but they are asking people to avoid the area around the Saint Regis Travel Center.
According to reports, an officer-involved shooting took place during the incident.
The Montana Highway Patrol has confirmed that no officers were injured during the incident, but one person was injured and taken to a hospital in Missoula.
