A nor’easter is expected to hit the tri-state region and bring over a foot of snow in some areas.

The storm is set to occur overnight and last through tomorrow, with the biggest impact expected on Wednesday.

Winter storm warnings are in effect for many areas of northern New Jersey and parts of the Hudson Valley, while winter weather advisories are in place for southern regions.

There will also be a coastal flood advisory for Long Island’s south shore and the Jersey Shore.

The storm is forecast to bring heavy snow to northern suburbs and high winds that could gust up to 50 miles per hour.

The global forecast model predicts anywhere from four to 12 inches of snow, with some areas possibly receiving up to two feet of snow.

The storm is described as a typical March-type storm.
