North Carolina lawmakers are once again considering a bill that would legalize sports betting in the state.

The latest bill, which is 24 pages long, includes a provision allowing betting on college sports, something that was not included in last year’s bill.

The proposed tax that gambling operators would pay to the state has also been increased from 9% to 14%.

Supporters of the bill, including Guilford County Democrat Ashton Clemmons, say that there is stronger support among lawmakers this time around.

As of last night, there were already 52 co-sponsors on the bill, and there may be more to come.

If the bill is passed, it would go into effect next January.
