Many areas in North Carolina will face a Freeze Warning on Sunday morning, with temperatures expected to plummet into the upper 20s.

The warning, which covers most of the state except for the mountains and foothills, will last until about 10 a.m. and areas of Charlotte are expected to be affected.

The frigid morning lows could reach 25 in the foothills and even feel like the low 22s or even the single digits in spots along the mountains, especially the western slope.

However, despite the cold weather, there will be plenty of sunshine throughout the day.
