New Zealand and China to Face Off in Friendly Match

New Zealand and China are scheduled to play a friendly match today, with the two teams set to meet again later in the week.

This marks the first of two encounters scheduled between the sides.

The teams have faced each other 11 times previously, with New Zealand holding the edge, having won four times to China’s three victories.

Three of the matches ended in draws, with the last encounter taking place in 2014, resulting in a 1-1 draw in a friendly.

The New Zealand national team heads into this match on the back of two consecutive defeats against Australia in their most recent matches.

In friendly matches concluding their 2022 campaign, they failed to secure a spot in the World Cup 2022 hosted in Qatar after losing to Costa Rica in the World Cup qualifying finals.

China, on the other hand, last played in July 2022 during the EAFF Football Championship, where they secured a third-place finish with four points.

However, they missed out on qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, finishing fifth in the third round of Group B with six points.

Both teams will be eager to secure a win in this friendly match, as they continue their preparations for upcoming tournaments and competitions.

Football fans around the world will be closely following this encounter, with many predicting a closely contested game between these two sides.
