New Mexico Braces for Rain and Snow Across the State
New Mexico is experiencing a cold and wet start to the day, with rain and snow expected across much of the state.
According to Erik, a meteorologist, early morning rain showers are moving through the Albuquerque metro area, with snow likely to fall around Santa Fe and Los Alamos for several hours.
The East Mountain communities are experiencing below-freezing temperatures, while Albuquerque is holding above freezing.
Shower chances will go low into the lunch hour, but will not completely zero out.
In the afternoon, from around 3 to 5 p.m., rain is likely to fall again in Albuquerque.

Meanwhile, other parts of the state are experiencing wet roads, which could become slick, particularly around the East Mountains.
City councilors in Albuquerque will be discussing a new ordinance tonight, which aims to create a special tip line for people to report illegal gun activity.
