Nearly 20 people have been arrested on suspicion of sex crimes against children as part of an undercover operation held by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
The operation, called Operation Secret Admirer, was organized by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The suspects were arrested at various locations, including restaurants, hotels, and parks, after attempting to meet with whom they believed to be minors.
Three of the 18 suspects were registered offenders with prior crime charges.
The investigation lasted for three weeks, during which the Sheriff’s Office issued and reviewed more than 50 search warrants.
The authorities have urged anyone with information about crimes against children to report it to their office or Cyber Tip.
