The woman’s body was found in a neighborhood near a green house in the 17000 block of From Elaine. The suspect is identified as Richard Paul Rodriguez, a 34-year-old adopted son of a woman living in the house.
Rodriguez was named as a suspect in the disappearance of a female, highlighted in a bulletin issued by the Holbrook Police Department. It is possible that the woman in the bulletin, whose picture is being withheld, is the same person whose body was found in the trunk.
Huntington Beach authorities are still verifying this aspect of the investigation. The bulletin also mentioned a stolen red sedan, which matches the description of the vehicle in which the woman’s body was discovered.
