Currently, it is 4:48 on this Tuesday morning and we are looking at the live weather forecast from the 22 News Storm Team. In Westfield, the conditions are not too bad at the moment, although we have experienced some light showers overnight, making the roads wet. The breeze is coming from the south and will continue throughout the day.
Overall, the visibility is good, with just a slight reduction in Westfield and Springfield. Temperatures are in the upper 40s to near 50, with Cumington currently at 50 degrees, South Hadley at 48 degrees, and Agan at 46 degrees.
As the day progresses, temperatures will rise, resulting in a mild day, although there will still be a breeze with winds coming from the south at 5 to 15 mph. Any early showers will give way to a mix of sun and clouds.
The focus of the Storm Team forecast tomorrow is a beautiful day, but we need to be cautious about Thursday as colder air will move in, bringing the possibility of below freezing temperatures and showers that could potentially mix with freezing drizzle, particularly in the Berkshires. Although this icy mix may cause some slippery conditions during the morning commute, it is not expected to be a major issue.
As we approach the weekend, the weather will be bright and chilly. Currently, there are only a few scattered light showers in Eastern Hampshire County, with most of the rain from last night moving towards the east, towards Cape Cod and the Islands.
The rest of the day will be relatively quiet according to the 23 Storm Team skycast. By 10 AM this morning, we can expect to see a good amount of sun, with a few passing clouds throughout the day. Wednesday will be mostly quiet as well. However, we need to keep an eye on Thursday morning, as there may be some snow flurries in Northern Berkshire County.
This will occur after midnight, and then continue through the morning at 6 AM..
