The University of Missouri’s men’s basketball team has announced a contract extension for first-year coach Dennis Gates.
The extension will keep Gates on board through the 2028-29 season, with his annual salary increased to four million dollars and a 100 thousand dollar raise each year.
Gates has had a historic first season, leading the Tigers to 24 wins so far, the best SEC finish in program history, and the group’s first-ever appearance in the SEC tournament semifinals.
The announcement came just hours after the Tigers’ SEC tournament win against Tennessee, and they will face off against first-seeded Alabama in the semifinals tomorrow.
