In a tragic development, the body of a missing woman has been found tied up in a shopping cart in an alley in Chicago.
The family of Rosa Chacon, a 21-year-old who had been missing for months, identified her body after it was discovered wrapped in sheets and tied up in the cart in the 2300-block of West 24th Place, close to where she was last seen getting into a rideshare vehicle back in January.
Chacon’s family said that it was unusual for her not to contact them for so long, and they had been worried about her safety.
The community is reeling from this latest tragedy, and community activists are planning a press conference to discuss the case and other recent violence in the Little Village neighborhood.
