[] For years, there has been a consensus that men should not participate in women’s sports. Whether it’s trans men breaking records in girls swimming or high school boys causing injuries to girls in volleyball, it is clear that this creates an unfair playing field and poses a danger.
Just last week in Massachusetts, a male athlete playing on a women’s high school field hockey team sent a female player to the hospital after hitting her in the face with a slap shot, resulting in severe damage. Field hockey is known to be one of the fastest sports, with balls reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. The athlete responsible for this incident was a skilled player with four years of experience and a co-captain, but due to a technicality, he was allowed to play with the girls.
It is important to remember that just because something is considered equal does not mean it is fair. Joining us now is Bill Rooney, the superintendent of the Massachusetts school, to discuss this issue further..
