In a drug bust operation in El Monte, federal agents arrested three Mexican nationals after discovering almost 1 million fentanyl pills in their car.
According to the agents, the suspects had negotiated a deal for a 10,000-pill sample in exchange for $7,500.
If the sample checked out, one of the suspects was supposed to buy the rest.
The suspects were apprehended during a pre-planned traffic stop.
If found guilty, each of them could face a life sentence.
