A fire broke out at the LA Nouvette Children’s Museum located in downtown El Paso at around 6 pm.

Smoke and flames were visible from the top of the building and nearby areas.

The fire was believed to have involved construction material on the roof and no injuries were reported.

Fire officials received a call just after two reporting an explosion and managed to put out the fire seven minutes after arriving at the scene.

The extent of the damage caused by the fire and its impact on the opening of the museum is currently unknown.

Fire crews have left the scene, but the aftermath of the fire remains, and water can be seen around the building.
