Police search for masked trio believed to be behind multiple burglaries in Western Washington
A masked crew of three suspects is believed to be responsible for a string of burglaries in Western Washington.
The burglars have hit homes from Kent to Bellingham, using trail systems to target the houses.
The crew has already carried out more than a hundred cases in the region and is believed to be organized at a national level.
The burglars have been described as bold, confident, and unafraid of being caught.
They break into homes, often ransacking the second floor, using items like garbage cans or ladders to access them.
The burglaries are happening in residential areas near trail systems, which the burglars are using as a means of escape or a place to stage their cars.
The police departments in the region have been working together to find the suspects, and investigators have asked the public to take precautions to protect themselves.
The police have advised people to remove anything the criminals can climb onto to access the second floor of their homes, make it look like their homes are occupied, take down the serial numbers of electronics and jewelry, and invest in a good home alarm.
Detectives say that while the burglars are not phased by cameras, the noisy alarm systems tend to scare them off.
The Bellevue Police Department has added extra patrols and has seen a significant reduction in the number of burglaries since.
The police are asking anyone who sees something strange happening in their neighborhood to call 9-1-1 immediately.
The sooner the police are notified, the quicker they can respond and help.
