Man Charged with Murder in Connection to Deadly Shooting Outside Winston-Salem Bar
A second man has been charged in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred outside of Gatsby’s Pub in Winston-Salem.
19-year-old Jason Olmedo is facing murder charges in the death of Quantic Wilder.
Olmedo was taken into custody in Stokesville.
Wilder was shot and killed outside of Bourke Street Bar almost a month ago.
Nehemiah Chandler, another 19-year-old, is also facing murder charges in the case.
In other news, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro is breaking ground on its latest housing project today.
The group is building two sets of townhomes in the Willow Oaks neighborhood, and future homeowners will be taking part in a shovel ceremony marking the beginning of construction.
The event is set to start this morning at 11 a.m.
on Green Oak Street in Greensboro.
Winston-Salem Mayor Alan Jones is also set to make an announcement about his political future today.
He will be making the announcement outside of City Hall at 10:30 a.m.
Jones has been the mayor of Winston-Salem since 2001, making him the longest-serving mayor in the city’s history.
