Local Elmira Bowling Team Receives Proclamation from County Executive for State Title Win

The Elmira Express boys bowling team has been recognized by Shimon County after winning a division one State title at the New York State Public High School Bowling Championships in Syracuse earlier this month.

County Executive Christopher Moss presented a proclamation to the team, dedicating this week as the “Chevron County Gold Medal athlete week.” This recognition highlights the significant achievements of local athletes who have demonstrated exceptional performance and dedication in their respective sports.

Express head coach Tim Kraut expressed his pride in the team and thanked the community, school districts, and local media for their support.

The team had a shaky start to the season but was confident they could win it all, and that’s exactly what they did.

They executed their game plan, and after waiting for the other team to finish, they found out they had won the championship.

The Elmira bowling team is one of the many sporting teams in the area that doesn’t get the recognition that basketball, football, and baseball get, making this proclamation a significant honor.

The team has exhibited outstanding athletic ability, bringing great honor and recognition to themselves and to Shimon County through their athletic accomplishments.
