Local Amazon workers in Cincinnati are teaming up with the national Amazon labor union to push for more support and better working conditions.
Workers spent the day signing union authorization cards and rallying for their cause.
They’re asking for a starting wage of $30 per hour, 180 hours of paid time off, and union representation against discipline.
Workers argue that they are the “lifeline of the company,” doing the physical work of moving freight and operating calendars.
Amazon responded with a statement saying they are always looking for ways to improve, but they are proud of the competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and safe work experience they provide.
