Liverpool’s new players, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez, are injecting new energy into the team and helping them turn a corner in a season full of false starts.

Robbie Earle and Tim Howard discussed the team’s transition from Mane, Firmino, and Salah to Gakpo, Nunez, and Salah on NBC Sports.

The front three players are interchanging and running in behind, dropping deep and playing unselfishly, which is helping Liverpool play at their best.

Additionally, Liverpool’s back four has kept five clean sheets in five games, which allows their forward players to go forward and express themselves without fear of conceding goals.

Gakpo was originally brought in as a left-winger, while Nunez was brought in as a number nine.

However, they have since swapped positions and are now making the roles their own.

Gakpo is even working with a data analytic company to improve his game and find space on the field.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said that Gakpo did not come to Liverpool to jump on the train, but rather to help push it.

Despite Liverpool’s strong performances, they still have Joshua and Diaz and Bobby Firmino on the bench.

With the addition of Canate at the back, Liverpool can play higher and more compact and get that counter-press where they can win the ball back again.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Arsenal and may still be affected by their 9-0 loss to Liverpool in August.

Liverpool’s upcoming match against Bournemouth is crucial for both teams as they both need the three points.

If Bournemouth wins, they can get out of the bottom three, while Liverpool could go top four if they win.
