Lahainaluna High School seniors in Hawaii are hoping to have a traditional graduation ceremony at their home stadium, but a renovation project could impact their plans.
The school’s principal announced in December that the stadium would undergo renovations starting in April, and the smaller field would likely be used for this year’s graduation ceremony.
However, many are concerned about the smaller field’s capacity, as it may not be able to accommodate all of the graduating seniors and their families.
The school is working with contractors to try and complete portions of the project in time for graduation day, but a final plan has not been set yet.
Lahainaluna High School’s senior class president said that traditions are very important to her and that she is hoping for the ceremony to take place at the stadium.
