On Tuesday, the Senate of Kentucky passed a bill that would make the state a ‘Second Amendment Sanctuary State’.
House Bill 153 seeks to nullify the enforcement of any federal firearm ban and is the second attempt by Kentucky lawmakers to pass such legislation.
Supporters argue that the bill is necessary to prevent overreach by the federal government, while opponents express concern that it would limit law enforcement’s ability to do their jobs.
The bill will now move to the House of Representatives for consideration.
