A man was shot and injured by Jefferson Parish deputies in Marrero while they were serving a search warrant.

The incident took place on Avenue B, where 50-year-old Louis Alexander spotted the deputies and fled the scene, leading officers on a long chase.

Alexander was wanted for four armed robberies and for robbing a house recently.

He was eventually found under a house on School Drive, but was shot multiple times during his arrest.

Currently, he is recovering in the hospital.

Investigators have also found a firearm near Alexander.
