Charcuterie Artisans SAS, an Italian meat maker based in Burrillville, Rhode Island, has laid off nearly 50 employees due to current market conditions and national economic uncertainty, according to the company’s CEO.

The company had increased its staff during the pandemic to meet demand, but as consumers return to their routines, the consumption of their products is leveling off to pre-pandemic levels.

The CEO expressed regret for the layoffs but stated that it was necessary to ensure the long-term viability of the company.
