Immigration officials are urging migrants in Texas to turn themselves in for processing and placement on the correct immigration path.

This call comes as officials anticipate a surge of migrants following the expiration of a border restriction policy on Thursday night.

Federal agents have approached individuals who had been residing on sidewalks outside the Sacred Heart Church, requesting them to visit a U.S.

Customs and Border Enforcement center for processing.

Flyers were distributed, informing recipients that they would be “processed by CBP officers and placed on the correct immigration path.” Already, hundreds of migrants have voluntarily turned themselves in to immigration authorities.
