A house fire in Southeast Albuquerque early this morning led to the discovery of a body, prompting an investigation by the Homicide Unit.

The Albuquerque Fire Rescue received a call around 7 AM and dispatched 13 crews to the scene on Silver Avenue.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but upon searching the duplex, responders found a body.

Due to injuries on the body, the Albuquerque Police Department and fire investigators were called to the scene.

APD has not provided any further details about the homicide at this time.
