Helen Obiri has set a new event record as she crossed the finish line at the 2023 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon.

Obiri, a two-time Olympic and seven-time World Championship medalist, finished with a time of 1:07:21, becoming the women’s champion of the race.

This is the eighth half marathon of Obiri’s career, and she has won five of the seven so far.

In the other two races, she ran incredibly fast times of 64:22 and 64:51.

Obiri was able to achieve the best of both worlds today – a fast time and the victory.

She finished about 12 seconds faster than the previous event record of 1:07:35, set by Sunbury to Ferry last year.

Obiri’s dominant performance was impressive, and she proved once again why she is a top competitor in the running world.
