Three people were injured in a head-on collision in Rankin County on Brownhill Road in Florence around 8 a.m.
A woman and her child were injured in the crash, and crews from several Rankin County agencies responded to the wreck.
Emergency officials worked for more than two hours to free the mother from the wreckage.
Both the mother and child were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The driver of the second vehicle was also extricated and loaded into an ambulance.
The baby involved in the crash appears to have just minor seatbelt injury, while the driver of the other vehicle and his child were unharmed.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
