A woman from Hampton was caught with a loaded gun at Norfolk International Airport on Friday, according to officials from the Department of Homeland Security.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at the airport detected the gun in the woman’s bag at the security checkpoint.

The TSA stated that the nine-millimeter gun was loaded, and the police confiscated it.

The woman is now facing weapons charges and a substantial fine for attempting to bring the gun onto a flight.

This is the seventh gun seizure at the checkpoint at Norfolk International Airport so far this year.
