In overnight news, a horrifying stabbing took place in Queens. An assailant attacked a 22-year-old woman, impaling her at least seven times inside a residential building in Jamaica this morning. The victim is currently in critical condition, fighting for her life. Janice, a reporter from Eyewitness News, is live in Jamaica with the latest updates.

Good morning, Janice. As you mentioned, Shirlene, the 22-year-old victim was urgently transported to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition. She continues to fight for her life as authorities relentlessly search for the individual responsible for the stabbing. This unfortunate incident occurred around 11:30 yesterday in the 11th floor corridor of the Crossing at Jamaica Station apartments on Archer Avenue.

Police reveal that the victim sustained multiple stab wounds in her torso, shoulder, and hands. Presently, it remains unclear what transpired leading up to this violent encounter.

Detectives are actively investigating the matter. Investigators confirm that the victim and the suspect are unrelated individuals.
