Winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories have been issued across the Great Lakes region as snow showers continue to spread.

Storm Team 8 Forecast on News 8 Daybreak reports that a low-pressure center is tracking overhead, resulting in widespread snow showers across the area.

The snow is uniform and extends all the way east to downtown Lansing and back to the Lakeshore.

Winter weather warnings have been issued for Wisconsin, where enough snow is expected to accumulate.

Although the snow is not expected to stick around for long, commuters should still exercise caution.

The weather is expected to be very active throughout the week and into the weekend, with the overall pattern featuring unseasonably cold temperatures.

However, there will be a temporary break from the cold weather on Wednesday, which is expected to be a pleasant day with temperatures reaching 60 degrees.

Thursday could see temperatures flirting with 70 degrees, but it will come with an increase in precipitation chances.

Major road projects are slated to begin this week, with one major closure already in effect.

Byron Road is closed between I-196 and 84th Avenue, although on and off ramps remain open.
