We are excited to bring you to the grand opening of the Military Honor Plaza at the St Augustine Lighthouse. Video footage from Friday’s ceremony is available. This plaza features special bricks dedicated to honoring members of the armed forces. It is open for everyone to visit.

It is important that we acknowledge the contributions of those serving in the military, as each person has a family, connections, and a unique story to share. Similar to other Lighthouse stations across the country, the St Augustine light station served as a United States Coast Guard Station during World War II.

The coastal Lookout building, which was constructed in 1941 to accommodate servicemen, remains standing today on the museum grounds..
